Tournaments
Players may be flighted by a Committee decision
based on handicaps and/or average scores at the beginning
of the summer. After three (3) events, juniors will be flighted
by scores shot on the Jimmy Green Junior Golf Tour into "A"
and "B" Divisions.
In the event an age division is flighted,
the top three (3) places in both the "A" Division
and the "B" Division will receive Trophies. Girls'
awards will be proportionate to the number of participants.
Points are awarded to the "A" Division only.
Annual Awards
Trophies will be awarded to the top four
(4) places in each age division at the Annual Awards Banquet
to the juniors accumulating the most points during the season.
The last event of the year will be the Tour Championship.
Girls' awards will be proportionate to the number of participants.
Points will be awarded to the top five (5)
places overall within each age group as follows:
1st Place - 8 points
2nd Place - 6 points
3rd Place - 4 points
4th Place - 3 points
5th Place - 2 points
6th Place - 1 point
Jimmy Green Tour Championship Tournament
The top four juniors accumulating the most
points during the season will compete against each other.
Points will be awarded as follows: 1st place, 20 points; 2nd
place, 10 points; 3rd place, 5 points; and 4th place, 3 points.
All age divisions except 10 and under will compete in this
event.
Junior Challenge Cup Matches
The Junior Challenge matches will be held
annually. The team will consist of the best junior golfers
in the Mobile Metro area as determined by a committee composed
of a Captain and two other members selected by the Board of
Directors of the Junior Golf Association of Mobile.
The main criteria for selection will
be performance in high school and junior golf tournaments
with competitive fields. Events such as the State High School
Championship, the State Junior Championship, the Future Masters,
and AJGA Events will be the type events that will be used
as a gauge of performance. Performance on the Jimmy Green
Tour may be used as an additional criterion when needed, but
it is not the major factor in the selection process.
