CODE OF CONDUCT

Conducting competitive junior golf tournaments is a goal of The Junior Golf Association of Mobile (JGAM). The JGAM will administer the Jimmy Green Junior Golf Tour at various golf courses in the metropolitan Mobile area during the summer season. The JGAM takes great pride in the quality of its players, its host facilities and the volunteer involvement at each tournament.

In order to continue to make JGAM tournaments enjoyable for everyone, the Association requires all of its members to adhere to a set of guidelines known as the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct's purpose is to help all JGAM participants grow and mature by understanding and accepting the consequences of their actions. The Code of Conduct is a guideline for participants to follow, both on and off the golf course.

1. Violations of the Code of Conduct on the golf course include: Abusive language, club throwing, cheating, disrespect of volunteers or officials, abuse of the course, smoking or chewing tobacco products, use of drugs or alcohol, not adhering to the dress code during tournament play, leaving the course during the competitive round without permission of a tournament official, or any other conduct not becoming of a JGAM member.

Note: The JGAM Tournament Director, Host Professional and his committee may assess a one-stroke penalty for unsportsmanlike behavior on the golf course.

2. Actions that are considered violations of the Code of Conduct off the golf course, but while at the host facility, include: Any use of or association with drugs or alcohol, smoking or chewing tobacco products, vandalism at the host facilities, or any other conduct not becoming of a JGAM member.

3. Proper attire is required at all times at the golf facility and failure to comply may result in disqualification. The dress code prohibits short shorts, tank tops, T-shirts, denim shorts and jeans. Additionally, all hats must be worn properly, collared shirts (for boys) must be worn and all shirts must be tucked in.

4. The JGAM Tournament Committee may assess any or all of the following penalties based on the severity of the Code of Conduct violation:

a. Issue a written letter of warning to the player and his or her parents/guardians.
b. Disqualify the player from the tournament at which the violation occurs.
c. Disqualify the player from the next tournament(s) for which he or she has been accepted.
d. Suspend the player's membership indefinitely.

In the event of a suspension, both the player and parent will be required to submit a written account of the Code of Conduct violation to the JGAM Tournament Committee within 30 days of the suspension. The Committee will review all submitted materials, including the Tournament Director and host professional's account of the violation, then determine the length of the suspension. Any player whose membership is under suspension will not be eligible for post-season awards.
